Zerto 10.8 End of Life: Bug Fixes End October 28, 2026
Zerto 10.8 leaves active support on October 28, 2026. HPE Zerto's own name for that milestone is End of Bug Fixes: on its Product Version Lifecycle Matrix the 10.8 row prints General Availability (GA) October 28, 2025, End of Bug Fixes October 28, 2026 and End of Support Life (EOSL) October 28, 2027. Between the two end dates the version is still supported, but new bugs are resolved only when critical and maintenance updates and upgrades stop. After End of Support Life the matrix says the version is no longer supported and an upgrade is required before troubleshooting can be started. Zerto 10.0 Update 6, the other 10.0-line update still in its General Availability phase, reaches End of Bug Fixes on December 3, 2026.
What Zerto's support phases mean
HPE Zerto's matrix describes two milestones after a version's General Availability date. In its words: "As each new Zerto version is released, older versions approach their End of Bug Fixes and End of Support Life." It defines them as follows.
- End of Bug Fixes. "Commercially reasonable efforts for a solution will be taken, but new bugs will not be resolved, unless they are critical." For Zerto 10.8 this is October 28, 2026.
- End of Support Life (EOSL). "The version is no longer supported and an upgrade is required before troubleshooting can be started." For Zerto 10.8 this is October 28, 2027.
The matrix's companion page, the Lifecycle Support Summary, lists what each phase includes. During General Availability every service is available. After End of Bug Fixes, maintenance updates and upgrades stop, new bug fixes cover critical issues only, and support for new platform releases moves to commercially reasonable efforts; critical security updates, issues relief, event summaries and the right to submit support requests continue. After End of Support Life only the knowledge base, forums and documentation remain. The summary also notes that issues encountered while upgrading from an unsupported version are not eligible for support.
Two more rules from the matrix shape an upgrade plan. "Starting with version 10.0_U7, Zerto updates are released on a twice-yearly schedule." And "ZVM can be upgraded from a version that is up to two releases older (e.g., 10.0 to 10.0_U1 or 10.0_U2)", with sites able to pair "with sites running up to two versions apart". The matrix prints the day for every milestone, so the dates on this page are the vendor's own, not a policy applied to a release date.
The dates, in one table
These are the rows of the matrix's "Lifecycle Matrix for Zerto 10.0 and Later Updates" table that are not yet past End of Support Life. The matrix marks 10.8.11 with the footnote "HVM support".
| Version | General Availability | End of Bug Fixes | End of Support Life | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zerto 10.9 | May 13, 2026 | May 13, 2027 | May 13, 2028 | The newest version on the matrix and the longest runway. |
| Zerto 10.8.11 | March 3, 2026 | March 3, 2027 | March 3, 2028 | Listed with its own lifecycle row, apart from 10.8. |
| Zerto 10.8 | October 28, 2025 | October 28, 2026 | October 28, 2027 | This page. Critical fixes only after End of Bug Fixes. |
| Zerto 10.0 Update 7 | May 6, 2025 | May 6, 2026 | May 6, 2027 | Past End of Bug Fixes; critical fixes only until End of Support Life. |
| Zerto 10.0 Update 6 | December 3, 2024 | December 3, 2026 | December 3, 2027 | Two-year General Availability phase as printed by the matrix. |
Zerto 10.0 Update 5 and every earlier version are past End of Support Life on the matrix; the last of them, 10.0 Update 5, reached it on August 6, 2026. Our Zerto page carries every row, including the archived 9.x and earlier versions.
What to do with the time you have
- Inventory by version. List every Zerto Virtual Manager and every paired site, with its exact version. The matrix lists 10.8.11 separately from 10.8, so record the full version string.
- Put both 10.8 dates in the plan. October 28, 2026 is when maintenance updates and non-critical bug fixes stop; October 28, 2027 is when support ends and an upgrade is required before troubleshooting can begin.
- Pick a target within the upgrade rule. The matrix says ZVM can be upgraded from a version up to two releases older, and that updates have shipped twice a year since 10.0 Update 7. From 10.8, the versions on the matrix with later dates are 10.8.11 and 10.9.
- Check paired sites in the same pass. Sites can pair up to two versions apart, so a site left on 10.0 Update 6 constrains how far its partner can move. 10.0 Update 6 itself reaches End of Bug Fixes on December 3, 2026 and End of Support Life on December 3, 2027.
- Do not plan an upgrade from an unsupported version at the last minute. The Lifecycle Support Summary says issues met while upgrading from an unsupported version are not eligible for support. Our EOL Checker and API cover the hypervisor and operating systems underneath.
