Fortinet Hardware End of Life: Nine Models, October and November 2026

By Scott Bissett  ·  Published: October 18, 2026  ·  Reference guide  ·  Dates read twice from Fortinet's Product Life Cycle page at support.fortinet.com (Hardware & VM tab, and Fortinet's Hardware RSS feed) on the day of publication and re-checked at every site build; milestone definitions from the same page.

Between October 29, 2026 and November 14, 2026, nine Fortinet hardware models pass a lifecycle milestone. Four reach End of Support, Fortinet's final milestone: the FortiDeceptor-1000F, the FortiAuthenticator-2000E and 3000E, and the FortiGate-81E. Five reach End of Order, the last day they can be bought, and stay supported for five more years: the FortiAP-432FR, FortiSwitch-424E-FPOE, FortiADC-220F, FortiAnalyzer-300G and FortiManager-200G. Every date below comes from the Hardware & VM tab of Fortinet's Product Life Cycle page. Each model links to its own page with live status and EOL Risk Score.

Quick answer: The FortiDeceptor-1000F reaches End of Support on October 29, 2026, the FortiAuthenticator-2000E and 3000E on October 31, 2026, and the FortiGate-81E on November 14, 2026. After End of Support Fortinet has no obligation to provide support services. The other five models only leave sale; their End of Support dates are in 2031.

Key Dates at a Glance

Running Fortinet hardware past end of life?
Extended support past the official EOL date exists for many products in this position — whether it covers Fortinet hardware is exactly what we check. Tell us where to reach you and we’ll reply with matched options and pricing guidance — or an honest “no vendor covers this.” Free, no obligation.

Reaching End of Support

For these four, Fortinet's last milestone is close. The End of Order dates passed in 2021, and the Last Service Extension Dates, twelve months before End of Support, passed in 2025, so existing contracts can no longer be extended.

Check the exact model. Fortinet prints variants as separate rows, and some have later dates. The FortiDeceptor-1000F-USG reaches End of Support on January 29, 2029. The FortiGate-81E-POE reaches it on July 15, 2027 and the FortiGate-81E-USG on May 30, 2027.

The FortiGate-81E and FortiOS 7.4. Fortinet lists 7.4.0 as the FortiGate-81E's last supported software version, so the appliance tops out on the FortiOS 7.4 line. On our FortiOS 7.4 page, engineering support for 7.4 ends May 11, 2027 and end of support is November 11, 2028, but the hardware's own End of Support comes first. FortiOS appears many times in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog; a firewall past End of Support has no Fortinet commitment to a fix for the next entry. See FortiOS 7.4 end of life for the software dates.

Leaving sale, supported to 2031

These five reach End of Order now. Fortinet's general rule is that hardware End of Support comes 60 months after End of Order, and these rows follow it.

FortiAnalyzer-300GNovember 1, 2026November 1, 2031

For these models the End of Order date matters for buying spares and for new support contracts on units not yet covered. The Last Service Extension Date falls a year before End of Support, in 2030. The FortiSwitch-424E-Fiber is not on this list: it reaches End of Order on November 29, 2026.

What the milestones mean, in Fortinet's words

Fortinet's Product Life Cycle page defines three milestones:

Fortinet milestoneFortinet's definition (summarised)On this site
End of Order (EOO)The last date a hardware or software product may be ordered; after it the product is no longer for sale. Fortinet gives at least ninety days' notice in an End of Life notification. The "active support" date on each model page
Last Service Extension Date (LSED)The last date an order is accepted for a product no longer for sale, or for extending an existing support or security subscription contract. It is 12 months before End of Support, and no contract may be extended past End of Support.Carried in the model data; not a tracked lifecycle date
End of Support (EOS)"After this date, Fortinet will not sell, manufacture, or improve the product and is under no obligation to provide support services." For hardware it generally comes 60 months after End of Order. The end-of-life date on each model page

Fortinet's page carries a disclaimer that it assumes no legal responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of the information and that the materials are subject to change without notice. The model pages on this site re-read Fortinet's table at every build, so a changed date shows there first.

What to do

  1. Read the model and suffix from the device (-POE, -USG, -TAA): variants carry different dates.
  2. FortiDeceptor-1000F, FortiAuthenticator-2000E or 3000E, FortiGate-81E: replacement is due now. Fortinet's page points customers to their local Fortinet reseller to plan a migration to a new product.
  3. FortiGate-81E on FortiOS 7.4: the hardware date is the limit, not the software date.
  4. FortiAP-432FR, FortiSwitch-424E-FPOE, FortiADC-220F, FortiAnalyzer-300G, FortiManager-200G: order spares before End of Order if you need them, and plan replacement around the 2031 End of Support date.
  5. Check the rest of the estate: the FortiGate, Fortinet security appliances, FortiAP and FortiSwitch pages list every model Fortinet has dated, and the EOL Checker answers for a single model.
