Agreement

By accessing or using endoflife.ai, its API, or any related services (collectively, "the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

The Platform is operated by Scott Bissett, Calgary, Alberta, Canada ("we", "us", "our").

The Platform

endoflife.ai provides end-of-life dates, support timelines, and EOL Risk Scores™ for software products. Data is sourced primarily from endoflife.date (MIT License) and enriched with our proprietary EOL Risk Score™ methodology.

Free to use

The website and free API tier are provided at no cost for personal, commercial, and open source use, subject to these terms and applicable rate limits.

Data accuracy

EOL dates and risk scores are provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranty that the data is complete, current, or error-free. Always verify critical security and compliance decisions against official vendor documentation.

API Terms

Free tier

The free tier allows 100 API requests per day per IP address. No API key is required. Rate limits are enforced automatically. Circumventing rate limits — including by rotating IP addresses or using proxies — is prohibited.

Pro tier

Pro API keys provide unlimited requests and access to the batch endpoint. Pro keys are issued manually. You may not share, resell, or transfer your API key. We reserve the right to revoke API keys for abuse, non-payment, or violation of these terms.

Prohibited API uses

Scraping or bulk downloading data to build a competing database or product
Reselling API access or API responses without a formal partnership agreement
Using the API to power a product that misrepresents the data source
Circumventing rate limits by any means
Using the API for any illegal purpose
Sending automated requests that degrade service for other users

Attribution

Products and services that display data from the endoflife.ai API must include visible attribution to endoflife.ai. The EOL Risk Score™ name and methodology may not be used without a formal partnership agreement.

Intellectual Property

EOL Risk Score™

The EOL Risk Score™ name, methodology, scoring factors, and weights are proprietary to endoflife.ai. EOL Risk Score™ is a trademark of endoflife.ai, established through use. You may not reproduce, publish, or implement the EOL Risk Score™ methodology without our written permission.

Platform content

Articles, guides, and original content published on endoflife.ai are copyright endoflife.ai. You may share links and short excerpts with attribution. You may not reproduce full articles or substantial portions without permission.

Underlying data

EOL date data sourced from endoflife.date is provided under the MIT License. You may use this data subject to the terms of the MIT License and these Terms of Service.

User conduct

You agree not to:

Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform
Introduce malware, viruses, or harmful code
Use automated tools to scrape the website in a manner that disrupts service
Misrepresent endoflife.ai data as your own proprietary data
Use endoflife.ai trademarks without permission

Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, endoflife.ai and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless endoflife.ai and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, violation of these terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

API Payment Terms

Pro API subscriptions are billed monthly. Payment is due upon receipt of invoice. We reserve the right to suspend API access for non-payment after 7 days. Refunds are not provided for partial months of service except at our discretion.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for violation of these terms. You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will post the updated terms on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. For material changes, we will notify Pro API subscribers by email.
