Terms of Service — endoflife.ai

Plain language summary: Use the platform and API fairly. Don't scrape or abuse the API. The data is provided as-is — verify critical decisions with official sources. EOL Risk Score™ is our proprietary methodology. Don't copy it without permission. The data files and the free API are free for evaluation and for running, securing and planning your own IT estate; using our data to assess or report on other organisations, or in anything you provide to others, needs a data licence. From November 16, 2026 every API data request needs a key (free keys are emailed instantly).

Agreement

By accessing or using endoflife.ai, its API, or any related services (collectively, "the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

The Platform is operated by EndofLife AI Inc., an Alberta (Canada) corporation, Box 4024 Station Main, Taber, Alberta T1G 2C6, Canada ("we", "us", "our").

The Platform

endoflife.ai provides end-of-life dates, support timelines, and EOL Risk Scores™ for software products. Data is continuously reconciled from vendors' published lifecycle documentation and independent datasets, including endoflife.date (MIT License), and enriched with our proprietary EOL Risk Score™ methodology; every date carries its source on our accuracy page.

Free to use

The website is free to use. The free API tier and the downloadable data files are free for evaluation and for running, securing and planning your own IT estate (including a company's own estate, and including through the official endoflife.ai integrations), subject to these terms and applicable rate limits. Using endoflife.ai data to assess, rate, underwrite, audit, research or report on other organisations, in any product, service or deliverable for third parties, redistributing or reselling it, or storing it in bulk to build a dataset needs a data licence; see Data licence below. Lifecycle data that originates from endoflife.date stays available under the MIT License whatever these terms say.

Data accuracy

EOL dates and risk scores are provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranty that the data is complete, current, or error-free. Always verify critical security and compliance decisions against official vendor documentation.

API Terms

Free tier

Until November 16, 2026 at 00:00 UTC, the free tier allows 50 API requests per day per IP address with no API key. From that time every data request needs an API key, and a request without a valid key is refused with HTTP 401; until then, keyless answers carry a notice of the change (Deprecation and Sunset headers and a keyless_access_notice field). A free key, emailed instantly from endoflife.ai/api, allows 150 requests per day and 5 products per batch call, and does not expire; use beyond those limits is on a paid key. The API index, the OpenAPI specification, badges, free-key signup, alert sign-up links and the hosted MCP server at mcp.endoflife.ai stay available without a key. Rate limits are enforced automatically. Circumventing rate limits — including by rotating IP addresses or using proxies — is prohibited.

Paid tiers

Starter keys (USD 89 a month) allow 10,000 requests per day and up to 25 products per batch call. Pro keys (USD 199 a month) allow unlimited requests and up to 50 products per batch call. Paid keys are issued automatically after checkout through Stripe; Enterprise terms are set by written agreement. You may not share, resell, or transfer your API key. We reserve the right to revoke API keys for abuse, non-payment, or violation of these terms.

Prohibited API uses

Scraping or bulk downloading data to build a competing database or product
Reselling API access or API responses without a formal partnership agreement
Using the API to power a product that misrepresents the data source
Circumventing rate limits by any means
Using the API for any illegal purpose
Sending automated requests that degrade service for other users

Attribution

Products and services that display data from the endoflife.ai API must include visible attribution to endoflife.ai. The EOL Risk Score™ name and methodology may not be used without a formal partnership agreement.

Intellectual Property

EOL Risk Score™

The EOL Risk Score™ name, methodology, scoring factors, and weights are proprietary to endoflife.ai. EOL Risk Score™ is a trademark of endoflife.ai, established through use. You may not reproduce, publish, or implement the EOL Risk Score™ methodology without our written permission.

Platform content

Articles, guides, and original content published on endoflife.ai are copyright endoflife.ai. You may share links and short excerpts with attribution. You may not reproduce full articles or substantial portions without permission.

Underlying data

Lifecycle data that originates from endoflife.date is provided under the MIT License. You may use this data subject to the terms of the MIT License and these Terms of Service.

Data licence

This section covers the bulk data files published on endoflife.ai (including scores.json, checker-db.json, scanner-db.json, cpe-map.json, purl-map.json, kev-products.json, verification.json, exploited-and-unpatchable.json and .xml, eos-edge-devices.json and .csv, the change feeds and the calendars). Data obtained through the API is covered by the API Terms above, which already require a formal agreement to resell or redistribute it.

Licence scope: free for evaluation and for running, securing and planning your own IT estate, including through the official endoflife.ai integrations; a data licence from [email protected] is required to use endoflife.ai data to assess, rate, underwrite, audit, research or report on other organisations, in any product, service or deliverable for third parties, to redistribute or resell it, or to store it in bulk to build a dataset. Data that originates from endoflife.date stays under its MIT licence and CISA KEV records stay public domain; the licence requirement applies only to what endoflife.ai adds.

Free, without a licence

Evaluating the data.
Running, securing and planning your own IT estate, including a commercial organisation's own estate: checking your own systems, feeding your own monitoring, and reporting and planning about your own estate.
Using it through the official endoflife.ai integrations (for example Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, Splunk and the MCP server; see /integrations), which need no data licence of their own. A plugin sold through a third-party marketplace may carry its own price and terms.

Needs a data licence

Using endoflife.ai data to assess, rate, underwrite, audit, research or report on other organisations (for example insurance underwriting, risk ratings, consulting or audit work for clients).
Any product, service or deliverable for third parties that contains or is built on endoflife.ai data.
Redistributing or reselling the data.
Storing it in bulk to build a dataset.

What the licence covers, and what it does not

The licence requirement applies only to what endoflife.ai adds: EOL Risk Scores™, vendor-verified dates and our published corrections, the joins between the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog and products and versions, the CPE and purl maps, curated feeds such as Exploited & Unpatchable and the end-of-support edge device list, and provenance labels.

It does not restrict data that originates from endoflife.date: that data is available under the MIT License, and you may use it on those terms, including by taking it from endoflife.date directly. CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog is a public-domain US government work. Nothing in these terms limits what those licences allow.

Getting a licence

Email [email protected] or use the commercial inquiry form. Attribution to endoflife.ai is required in every case where our data is shown to others.

User conduct

You agree not to:

Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform
Introduce malware, viruses, or harmful code
Use automated tools to scrape the website in a manner that disrupts service
Misrepresent endoflife.ai data as your own proprietary data
Use endoflife.ai trademarks without permission

Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, endoflife.ai and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless endoflife.ai and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, violation of these terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

API Payment Terms

Starter and Pro API subscriptions are billed monthly in advance, by card through Stripe at checkout and on each renewal. Enterprise agreements may be invoiced; invoiced payment is due on receipt. We reserve the right to suspend API access for non-payment after 7 days. Refunds are not provided for partial months of service except at our discretion.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for violation of these terms. You may cancel a paid subscription at any time by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Province of Alberta, Canada.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will post the updated terms on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. For material changes, we will notify Pro API subscribers by email.
