Sitecore 10.0 and 10.1 End of Extended Support: December 31, 2026
Sitecore 10.0 and 10.1 leave Extended Support on December 31, 2026. Sitecore's Product Support Lifecycle article (KB0641167) gives both versions the same dates: Mainstream Support ended on December 31, 2023, Extended Support ends on December 31, 2026, and Sustaining Support runs to the end of 2028. On this site the Extended Support end is the end-of-life date, because Sustaining Support carries no security updates and no fixes. Sitecore also changed what Extended Support includes: under the support model it put in operation on 1 June 2026, security updates in that phase are no longer listed as included. Live status and EOL Risk Score are on the Sitecore 10.1 and Sitecore 10.0 pages; every version is on the Sitecore page.

The dates, as Sitecore prints them
These rows come from the Support Phases For Specific Products table in KB0641167. Sitecore prints release dates as months only. Its policy notes that support for updates and service packs ends with the support of the initial release, so 10.1 Update-1 and later updates of 10.1 share the 10.1 dates.
| Version | Initial release (month) | Mainstream Support End Date | Extended Support End Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sitecore 10.1 | February 2021 | December 31, 2023 | December 31, 2026 |
| Sitecore 10.0 | August 2020 | December 31, 2023 | December 31, 2026 |
| Sitecore 10.2 | November 2021 | December 31, 2024 | December 31, 2027 |
| Sitecore 9.3 | November 2019 | December 31, 2022 | December 31, 2025 |
Sitecore's table also has a Sustaining Support End Date column; for 10.0 and 10.1 it falls at the end of 2028. Sitecore counts the phases from the general availability date: three years of Mainstream, six of Extended and eight of Sustaining; the table prints year-end dates.
What each phase includes, before and after June 2026
KB0641167 shows two support models. Sitecore says the updated model has been in operation since 1 June 2026, and that it applies to customers on Extended and Sustaining Support. Sitecore's legend: "Included", "Contact your Sitecore Account Representative to discuss options" (shown here as "Option"), and "Not available".
| Support type | Extended (previous model) | Extended (updated model) | Sustaining (updated model) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Online documentation, knowledge base and forums | Included | Included | Included |
| Assistance with product version upgrades | Included | Included | Included |
| Assistance with production incidents | Included | Option | Option |
| Security updates and fixes | Included | Option | Not available |
| Assistance with errors during installation or development | Option | Option | Not available |
| Product defects addressed as hotfixes or patches | Option | Option | Not available |
| Compatibility fixes for supported technology platforms | Not available | Not available | Not available |
The practical reading: for a 10.0 or 10.1 site, the last months of Extended Support no longer include security updates as standard; they are something to arrange with Sitecore. On December 31, 2026 even that option ends, because Sustaining Support has no security updates at all. Sitecore's notes add that commercial Sitecore modules, unless stated otherwise, follow the support phase of the Sitecore version they run on.
The KEV question
Sitecore products are in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog: CVE-2021-42237, CVE-2019-9874, CVE-2019-9875 and CVE-2025-53690. The CVE records for these entries name Sitecore versions up to 9.1 as affected, not 10.0 or 10.1. So the catalog entries are not a reason to treat a 10.x site as exploited. The reason to move is what happens next: after December 31, 2026, a flaw found in 10.0 or 10.1 gets no Sitecore fix, and the earlier entries show that Sitecore Experience Platform installations are a target.
Where to upgrade
Sitecore's notes say upgrade assistance is provided only when following the official upgrade instructions, from a version in Mainstream, Extended or Sustaining Support, to a version in Mainstream Support. In the table, the versions in Mainstream Support are:
- Sitecore 10.4: Mainstream Support until December 31, 2027, Extended Support until December 31, 2030.
- Sitecore 10.5: Mainstream Support until December 31, 2029, Extended Support until December 31, 2032.
Moving to 10.2 or 10.3 does not qualify for upgrade assistance and buys little: 10.2's Extended Support ends December 31, 2027. Check the Sitecore Compatibility Table for the platforms each target version supports, and the module compatibility tables for any Sitecore modules in use.
What to do
- Confirm the version: 10.0 and 10.1, including all their updates, share these dates.
- Talk to your Sitecore account representative now if you need security updates or production incident help in the remaining Extended months; under the updated model they are options, not included.
- Plan the upgrade to 10.4 or 10.5 so it lands before December 31, 2026, and follow Sitecore's official upgrade instructions to keep upgrade assistance.
- Check modules and platforms against Sitecore's compatibility tables for the target version.
- Check other sites: the Sitecore page lists every version Sitecore has dated, and the EOL Checker answers for a single version.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is Sitecore 10.1 end of life?
Sitecore's Product Support Lifecycle article KB0641167 gives Sitecore 10.1 an Extended Support End Date of December 31, 2026, the same as Sitecore 10.0. Sustaining Support follows until the end of 2028, but it includes no security updates and no fixes.
Do Sitecore 10.0 and 10.1 still get security fixes?
Under the support model Sitecore put in operation on 1 June 2026, security updates and fixes in the Extended Support phase are marked as an option to discuss with a Sitecore account representative, not as included. In the Sustaining Support phase that follows Extended Support, security updates and fixes are not available at all.
Which Sitecore version should 10.0 and 10.1 sites upgrade to?
Sitecore provides upgrade assistance only when the version being upgraded to is in Mainstream Support. In Sitecore's table that means Sitecore 10.4, whose Mainstream Support ends December 31, 2027, or Sitecore 10.5, whose Mainstream Support ends December 31, 2029.
Are Sitecore 10.0 and 10.1 in the CISA KEV catalog?
Sitecore products are in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, but the CVE records for those entries name Sitecore versions 9.1 and earlier as affected, not 10.0 or 10.1. After Extended Support ends, though, a newly found flaw in 10.0 or 10.1 has no Sitecore security fix.
