What Red Hat's policy says
Red Hat's Red Hat build of Keycloak Life Cycle and Support Policies set out the rules behind the dates:
- Minor releases: a minor release is supported with maintenance updates, meaning bug fixes and qualified security patches, until a second subsequent minor release is available, so for approximately twelve months.
- Major versions: from 26.x, a major version indicates a support life cycle of a minimum of two years (for 26.x) or three years (for 27.x and onwards).
- Full Support: provided under the published Scope of Coverage and Service Level Agreement; in this phase minor versions are the primary source of enhancements and new features.
- Maintenance Support: qualified security patches of Critical or Important impact, as well as select mission-critical bug fixes, are released.
Red Hat's life cycle table lists no version newer than 26.6 today, so this guide does not name one; the table already dates 26.6's move from Full to Maintenance Support.
What to do
- On 26.4: upgrade to 26.6, the newest release Red Hat lists, before December 3, 2026. Check Red Hat's upgrading guide for the steps from your release.
- On 26.6: nothing stops on November 15, 2026 except the move from Full to Maintenance Support. Plan the next minor upgrade before May 15, 2027.
- On 26.2 or older: already out of maintenance; 26.2 ended on June 3, 2026.
- Check other versions: the Red Hat build of Keycloak page re-reads Red Hat's data, and the EOL Checker answers for a single version.
