F5 BIG-IP iSeries End of Software Support: January 1, 2027
Fifteen BIG-IP iSeries platforms and the BIG-IP 10350v FIPS reach F5's End of Software Support on January 1, 2027. That date ends F5's Regular Support phase for the hardware. In the Extended Support phase that follows, F5's K4309 says F5 “will not provide repair or maintenance services for software or firmware defects,” and that this includes not providing patches for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), security updates or hotfixes. Technical support and RMA continue until End of Technical Support on January 1, 2031. Each model links to its page with live status and EOL Risk Score.

The platform ID in brackets is how F5 names the hardware in K4309; the same ID covers two models where F5 lists them on one line (the i5600 and i5800 are both C119). The i7x00-D and i10x00-D rows are F5's own names for those platform groups. End of New Software Support passed on January 1, 2026: F5 no longer develops or tests new BIG-IP releases for these platforms.
The i5820-DF and i7820-DF: new software ends, fixes continue to October 2027
| Platform (F5 platform ID) | End of New Software Support | End of Software Support | End of Technical Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| i5820-DF (C125) | January 1, 2027 | October 1, 2027 | October 1, 2031 |
| i7820-DF (C126) | January 1, 2027 | October 1, 2027 | October 1, 2031 |
On the same day the two DF platforms reach End of New Software Support: from then, in F5's words, F5 “ceases all software development and testing for that product in future software releases.” Fixes for the software they already run continue until their own End of Software Support, nine months later.
What each F5 milestone means
- End of New Software Support: the last day F5 develops and tests future BIG-IP releases for the platform. A device can keep running a release that is already supported on it.
- End of Software Support: the end of Regular Support, in which F5 provides repair and maintenance of hardware, software and firmware. After it, no software or firmware fixes, CVE patches included.
- End of Technical Support: the end of Extended Support, in which F5 still answers technical questions, troubleshoots and handles RMAs as the support contract allows.
Hardware and software have separate lifecycles. The BIG-IP software versions have their own end dates on the BIG-IP page; a supported software version on unsupported hardware still leaves the platform without fixes from F5.
What to do
- Identify the hardware platform of each device (the BIG-IP Configuration utility shows it, as does
tmsh show sys hardware) and match it to the tables above. - Every platform in the first table: plan replacement before January 1, 2027. Devices exposed to the internet, especially the management interface, carry the most risk once fixes stop.
- i5820-DF and i7820-DF: stay on a release F5 supports on them; new releases are not tested for them after January 1, 2027, and fixes stop on October 1, 2027.
- Check the rest of the estate: the F5 hardware page lists every BIG-IP, VIPRION and VELOS platform F5 has dated, and the EOL Checker answers for a single model.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does F5 end software support for the BIG-IP i5800?
F5's article K4309 gives the BIG-IP i5800 (C119) an End of Software Support date of January 1, 2027. Technical support and hardware RMA continue in F5's Extended Support phase until January 1, 2031, but after the first date F5 provides no software or firmware fixes for the platform, CVE patches included.
What does End of Software Support mean for F5 hardware?
It ends F5's Regular Support phase. In the Extended Support phase that follows, F5 answers technical questions and handles RMAs, but will not provide repair or maintenance services for software or firmware defects, which F5 says includes patches for CVEs, security updates and hotfixes.
Are the BIG-IP i5820-DF and i7820-DF affected?
Partly. F5 gives both an End of New Software Support date of January 1, 2027, after which F5 stops developing and testing future BIG-IP software for them, and an End of Software Support date of October 1, 2027, when fixes stop.
