Adobe's matrix gives two dates per version and labels them core support and extended support. What each phase includes for your licence is set by Adobe's support lifecycle policy and your agreement; confirm it with Adobe before you plan around the extended year. For ColdFusion 2025 the matrix shows no extended support date.
A note on accuracy: while preparing this guide we found that six ColdFusion dates in the open dataset we draw on did not match Adobe's matrix. We read Adobe's page twice, corrected them the same day, and added an automated check that re-reads Adobe's matrix every day. The dates above are the corrected ones.
What to do
- On ColdFusion 2018 or older: every phase Adobe lists has ended. Treat the server as unsupported and internet-exposed: move it, or take it off the internet while you do.
- On ColdFusion 2021: you are in the final listed phase, and it ends on November 10, 2026. Plan the upgrade to finish before that date, not start at it. Application testing on a new ColdFusion version is where the time goes.
- Choosing a target: ColdFusion 2023 has core support to May 16, 2028; ColdFusion 2025 to February 26, 2030. The later date buys the longer runway.
- Check what ColdFusion runs on. The Java runtime, the web server and the operating system under it each have their own end dates. Our EOL Checker and API answer those.
