Angular LTS Explained: Versions in LTS Now, 20 Ends November 28, 2026

Angular LTS (long-term support) is the second phase of every major version's life: after active support ends, the version receives only critical fixes and security patches for 12 months, and then nothing. Right now Angular 20 and Angular 21 are in that phase and Angular 22 is the active version. Angular 20 leaves it on November 28, 2026. The Angular team's releases page says versions 2 to 19 are no longer supported.

Quick answer: Angular 22 is supported until June 30, 2028, its end-of-support date. Active support for Angular 22 ends on June 30, 2027; security fixes continue until that end-of-life date. The next Angular version to reach end of life is 20, on November 28, 2026. 11 of 14 tracked Angular versions are past end of life; the most recent to reach it, 19, did so on May 19, 2026. What LTS covers, and what it does not

The policy changed with Angular 22. Versions up to Angular 21 were released about six months apart, with roughly six months of active support and twelve of long-term support. From Angular 22 the team publishes twelve months of each. That is why version 21's active support ended the day 22 shipped, and why 22's dates run a full year further than the old pattern would give. What to do, by version

  1. Angular 19 or older: no longer supported. Upgrade, one major version at a time, using the Angular update guide; or, if the application cannot move yet, look at commercial extended support, which exists for older Angular lines. The options on our Angular page show what is covered today.
  2. Angular 20: security fixes stop on November 28, 2026. Plan the move to 21 or 22 before then.
  3. Angular 21: in long-term support until June 30, 2027. Safe for now, but it no longer gets routine fixes.
  4. Angular 22: active until June 30, 2027.
