Adobe ends core support for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) 6.5 on February 28, 2027, and extended support on February 28, 2028. Adobe's AEM 6.5 LTS FAQ puts it plainly for on-premise customers: Adobe will continue to support AEM 6.5 until February 28, 2027, and recommends planning an upgrade to 6.5 LTS.

The exploited AEM Forms flaw
CISA added CVE-2025-54253, an Adobe Experience Manager Forms code execution vulnerability, to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on October 15, 2025. Adobe's bulletin APSB25-82 rates it critical with a CVSS base score of 10.0, lists AEM Forms on JEE 6.5.23.0 and earlier as affected, and gives the fix as version 6.5.0-0108. Fixes like this reach the 6.5 line as service packs and hotfixes while it is supported; after February 28, 2027 the line Adobe asks on-premise customers to run is AEM 6.5 LTS.
What to do
- Find which line each instance runs: AEM 6.5 with its service pack, or AEM 6.5 LTS. Anything below 6.5 is already past Adobe's extended support date.
- On AEM 6.5: plan the move to AEM 6.5 LTS before February 28, 2027. Adobe's upgrade guide says the upgrade is available from all supported 6.5 service packs, that a few legacy features were removed and the uber-jar packaging changed, and provides an analyzer tool to assess it: test customizations first.
- AEM Forms on JEE: confirm the installed version is at or above the fixed 6.5.0-0108 from APSB25-82.
- If you need longer: Adobe's matrix gives AEM 6.5 extended support to February 28, 2028; ask Adobe what it covers under your agreement before relying on it.
